JACQUESSON

Domaine Jacquesson is an exceptional house. Its history is the history of Champagne wines. A favorite of Napoleon 1st, the estate has accompanied the development of champagnes in France and abroad since 1798. Adolphe Jacquesson is the inventor of the champagne cork with worm and capsule.

Brothers Jean-Hervé and Laurent Chiquet took over the prestigious Maison Jacquesson in 1974. The winemakers continue the estate's tradition. But they also applied their unique vision to Champagne wine with the famous Cuvée 700 : a non-vintage brut Champagne made from a blend of the estate's Grands Crus and Premiers Crus.

At the end of 2022, Domaine Jacquesson became the property of the Artémis Domaines group. The aim is to continue the original work of the Chiquet brothers: excellence rather than regularity.

Location of Domaine Jacquesson

Located in Dizy, the Jacquesson champagne estate covers 28 hectares on two different plots of land on either side of the 49th parallel. It is thus subject to both oceanic and continental climatic influences. North of Épernay, the parcels in the Marne Valley are home to a Grand Cru at Aÿ and two Premiers Crus at Dizy and Hautvillers. The slopes are steep and chalky. And to the south, the house owns two Grands Crus on the Côte des Blancs at Avize and Oiry. The soils are chalky and south-facing.

Domaine Jacquesson wines

The 14 hectares of white grapes are 100% Chardonnay. And the 14 hectares of reds are divided between Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier. The Chiquet brothers have opted for cuvées 700 and 700 D. T. (late disgorgement). Each cuvée is a unique blend of vintages from the house's 3 Grands Crus and 2 Premiers Crus. Each is named Cuvée number 700 and following.

Depending on the vintage, Domaine Jacquesson also offers cuvées from the following lieux-dits : Dizy Corne Bautray, Dizy Terres Rouges, Avize Champ Caïn, Avize Grand Cru and Aÿ Vauzelle Terme.
