DOM PERIGNON

The House of Dom Pérignon is all about the sacred and the quest for the absolute. Its history is that of the creation of champagne by Dom Pierre Pérignon. The monk made the first champagne wine in 1668 atHautvillers Abbey, north of Épernay. His aim was to make the best wine in the world. Dom Pérignon champagne was born of exacting standards.

Since then, Dom Pierre Pérignon's successors have relentlessly pursued this quest for excellence. Today, the house flourishes within the Moët et Chandon group (LVMH). And it is Vincent Chaperon, Chef de Caves, who perpetuates the creation of the world's finest champagne according to the principles of Dom Pierre Pérignon.

Geographical location of Dom Pérignon

The Maison Dom Pérignon vineyard covers 1,250 hectares of vines between the Montagne de Reims and the Marne Valley. The parcels reflect Dom Pierre Pérignon's ambition: they are those of the 17 Grands Crus and one Premier Cru of Champagne wines. The grapes are Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.

Protected from the cold winds by the forest of Reims, the vines benefit from the chalky soil typical of Champagne and a semi-continental climate. Each parcel is carefully tended to preserve its character and enhance its expression. The grapes are rigorously selected with perfection in mind.

The wines of the House of Dom Pérignon

Dom Pérignon wines are vintage wines. A vintage champagne is blended from the year's best grapes and a selection of a dozen reserve wines. Dom Pérignon champagnes are cellared for 8 years. According to the house manifesto, a vintage must respect 10 principles of creation. Some years, vintages have not been declared!

Dom Pérignon vintages (Vintage range) are available in two cuvées: white and rosé. The house also offers the Plénitude version, which corresponds to extended aging of vintage Champagne wines.
