COUNT LIGER-BELAIR

Domaine du Comte Liger-Belair is a fine example of resilience. Founded in 1815, the estate was dismembered in 1933 during an estate sale. At the time of its creation, the estate's 60 hectares were home to the most prestigious climats of Burgundy wines. At the time of the sale, only 1.5 hectares remained, which was entrusted to neighboring winegrowers. But in 2000, Comte Louis-Michel Liger-Belair realized his childhood dream: to settle on the family estate and take over management of the vineyard. In 2015, Domaine du Comte Liger-Belair celebrated its 200th anniversary with the satisfaction of a renewed reputation in Burgundy and France.

Geographical location of Domaine du Comte Liger-Belair

Domaine du Comte Liger-Belair has always been located in Vosne-Romanée, in the Côte de Nuits region. Today, the vineyard covers 10.5 hectares of vines spread over four communes: Vosne-Romanée, Flagey-Échezeaux, Nuits-Saint-Georges and Vougeot. Parcels have been bought and leased since the return of Comte Louis-Michel.

The estate's wines come from prestigious parcels, in particular the Nuits-Saint-Georges Premier Cru Clos des Grandes Vignes monopole, purchased in 2012, and the Vosne-Romanée Clos du Château monopole.

These vines are cultivated according to a biodynamic approach that aims to give each plot its full attention. For Louis-Michel Liger-Belair and his family, wine is first and foremost the result of careful tilling of the soil.
