MUGNERET-GIBOURG
Jeanne Gibourg and André Mugneret founded Domaine Mugneret-Gibourg in 1933. Their son Georges developed the three-hectare vineyard through the purchase of parcels in prestigious Premier Cru and Grand Cru appellations (Clos-Vougeot, Ruchottes-Chambertin and Nuits-Saint-Georges).
Domaine Georges Mugneret-Gibourg since 2009, the vineyard is now run by Marie-Christine and Marie-Andrée, the daughters of Jacqueline and Georges Mugneret. The domaine has become a benchmark for Burgundy wines. Their wines are the result of a subtle alchemy between Pinot Noir and Burgundy terroirs.
Geographical location of Domaine Georges Mugneret-Gibourg
Domaine Georges Mugneret-Gibourg was born on the Vosne-Romanée terroir, in the heart of the Côte de Nuits. Today, the vineyard covers eight hectares and includes nine Burgundy appellations. To the north of Vosne-Romanée, it covers the terroirs of Gevrey-Chambertin, Flagey-Échezeaux, Vougeot and Chambolle-Musigny. To the south, the domaine's vines flourish in Nuits-Saint-Georges, around Combe du Bas.
Three generations of winemakers have contributed to the sublimation of Pinot Noir on these different terroirs. The vines are cultivated using sustainable methods. The finesse and aromas of each cuvée must reveal theunique expression of its terroir.
