DAUVISSAT RENE & VINCENT

Domaine René et Vincent Dauvissat is one of themost famous estates in Chablis. The estate's vines have been cultivated for 3 generations. The family story began in 1931, when grandfather Robert was bottling his own wines. Vincent succeeded his father René and took over the estate in 1989. The estate's vines are cultivated biodynamically, although they do not claim to be certified. Barrel-ageing is low-intervention, allowing the full expression of Burgundy's different climates. The result is pure, compact wines like Chablis premier cru Vaillons.

Location of Domaine Dauvissat René et Vincent

Domaine René et Vincent Dauvissat covers around three hectares. All are devoted to white Burgundy wines, with the exception of Irancy, a red wine produced near Auxerre. The vines of Domaine René et Vincent Dauvissat span five appellations, including Chablis grand cru, Chablis premier cru, Chablis and Petit Chablis. They are grown on clay-limestone soil. These exceptional climates enable the creation of remarkable white wines such as Chablis grand cru Forest or Chablis premier cru Vaillons.

Domaine Dauvissat René et Vincent wines

Domaine René et Vincent Dauvissat white wines are made from Chardonnay grapes. They can be recognized by their golden-green color. These powerful wines exude aromas of white fruit and citrus. On the palate, there's a fine balance between acidity and minerality. Chablis premier cru Forest and Chablis premier cru Vaillons are among the premier cru appellations produced by René and Vincent Dauvissat. A Chablis grand cru adds to the domaine's remarkable list of wines. René and Vincent Dauvissat also produce Irancy, a red wine made from pinot rouge grapes. Its floral notes on the nose, combined with a hint of vanilla on the palate, make it an essential Burgundy red wine.
