MOREAU BERNARD ET FILS

Domaine Bernard Moreau et Fils is one of Burgundy's most emblematic addresses. Since the early 19th century, it has been established in Chassagne-Montrachet, opposite the Premier Cru La Maltroie. It was Bernard's father, Marcel, who shaped the estate into what it is today. He acquired parcels located on prestigious Chassagne terroirs. In 1970, Bernard took over the estate. Since 1990, he has worked with his sons Alexandre and Benoît. Together, they adopt an organic approach to the vines and use biodynamic preparations to let the terroir express itself. The result is emblematic appellations such as Chevalier-Montrachet Grand Cru.

Geographical location of Domaine Bernard Moreau et Fils

Domaine Bernard Moreau et Fils covers 15 hectares. 12 are devoted to white wine and 3 to red wine. The estate covers remarkable appellations such as Chevalier-Montrachet Grand Cru, Chassagne-Montrachet Premier Cru La Maltroie, Chassagne-Montrachet Premier Cru Les Chenevottes and Chassagne-Montrachet Premier Cru La Cardeuse. Located in the southern part of the Côte de Beaune, the terroirs are at altitudes of between 220 and 320 meters. Planted on marly-limestone soils that are sometimes sandy, the vines produce fresh, mellow white wines and complex, subtly tannic reds.

Domaine Bernard Moreau et Fils wines

Domaine Bernard Moreau et Fils produces both red and white wines. The estate's red wines are made from Pinot Noir grapes. They can be recognized by their crimson color and red and black fruit aromas. The estate's white wines are made from Chardonnay. Special attention is paid to the Chevalier-Montrachet Grand Cru. The vines on the Puligny-Montrachet terroir benefit from exceptional sunshine. The result is a powerful, complex white Burgundy wine. No wonder Domaine Bernard Moreau et Fils is a Côte de Beaune must.
