VAN-CANNEYT CHARLES

Charles Van-Canneyt is one of Burgundy's most talented winemakers. He began his career at the Hudelot-Noëllat family estate. In 2012, building on his experience, Charles began producing his own wines. He started with five Grand Cru appellations made from vineyards not produced by Hudelot-Noëllat: Charmes-Chambertin, Corton-Renardes, Chambertin-Clos de Bèze, Griotte-Chambertin and Bonnes-Mares. Encouraged by a business partner, Charles Van-Canneyt pursues his desire to produce classic-style wines and limits his production to one or two barrels per appellation.

Charles Van-Canneyt's geographical location

Charles Van-Canneyt makes his wines from the vines of prestigious Burgundy estates. They stretch from the Côte de Nuits to the Côte de Beaune. Here, each plot of Pinot Noir produces a unique red wine. The grape variety is nourished by the terroir's specific characteristics. They come from the soil, the exposure and the care given to each vine. Meticulous work enables Charles Van-Canneyt to produce remarkable red wines, such as Gevrey-Chambertin Premier Cru Les Cazetiers, Nuits-Saint-Georges Premier Cru La Richemone and Gevrey-Chambertin Premier Cru Les Fontenys.

Charles Van-Canneyt wines

Charles Van-Canneyt produces mainly red Burgundy wines. Gevrey-Chambertin is a deep, aromatic Burgundy wine. Its ruby-red color and nose of cooked red fruit make it a great success. Another red wine catches our eye. This is Morey-Saint-Denis. It has an intense garnet-red color and a nose of black fruit aromas. It exalts notes of leather and moss, to the delight of lovers of excellent Burgundy wines. Charles Van-Canneyt's wine list includes other appellations, such as Gevrey-Chambertin Premier Cru Aux Cherbaudes and Échezeaux Grand Cru.
