CHEVILLON ROBERT

Domaine Chevillon was born in Nuits-Saint-Georges in the 1900s. Symphorien Chevillon produced his first wine from 30 ares of vines. The estate was handed down from father to son, until Robert gave it his first name in 1961. Denis and Bertrand, Robert's sons, have taken over the reins since Robert's retirement in 2003. Located in the Burgundy region, Domaine Robert Chevillon produces excellent vintages of red wine for laying down. The philosophy is to work the vines with precision. Short pruning and more frequent interventions for each vine. Manual sorting at harvest, cold maceration for 5 to 6 days and ageing in barrels, 30% of which are new. Wines unified for 3 to 4 weeks in vats, then bottled by gravity. This is the process devised by Denis and Bertrand, who together pay particular attention to every aspect of their wines.

The estate's geographical location

Domaine Robert Chevillon covers 13 hectares of old vines. It produces a great red wine under the Nuits-Saint-Georges appellation in Premier Cru and Burgundy. The wines are made in the heart of a world-renowned terroir. Pinot Noir grapes are grown with respect for the terroir and in harmony with the climate in which they grow.

Estate wines

Complex wines of elegant finesse, with notes of red fruit. Red Premiers Crus such as Les Vaucrains, Les Cailles, Les Chaignots, Les Roncières, Les Perrières and Les Pruliers are powerful on the nose. Full-bodied on the palate, these wines are well-balanced and reveal intense aromas, evolving towards notes of oak bark and pepper.
