CHAPOUTIER

Established in the Rhône Valley since 1808, the Chapoutier family has continued to perpetuate family traditions and iconic vineyards from generation to generation. In 1955, Marc Chapoutier - son of Marius Chapoutier - gave the company the name it still bears today, "M.Chapoutier". Michel Chapoutier arrived at the head of the estate in 1990, with a very specific idea in mind: to apply one of his beliefs, biodynamic viticulture. In the 2000s, Maison Chapoutier began to establish itself in various French wine-growing regions, then decided to expand abroad: Portugal, Spain and even Australia! Today, the House is firmly run by Michel Chapoutier, his wife Corinne and their children, Mathilde and Maxime, the next generation to carry on the family tradition.

Location of Maison Chapoutier

In 1991, Michel Chapoutier was faced with a decisive choice: to apply biodynamic methods to his vineyards. Not surprisingly, the estate is now certified organic. Maison Chapoutier owns over 280 hectares of vineyards, 70% Syrah and 30% Grenache noir for the reds, and 90% Marsanne and only 10% Viognier for the whites. Work in the vineyard is carried out with as few inputs as possible, in order to enhance the terroir and let nature do its work as much as possible.

The wines of Maison Chapoutier

Annual production exceeds 10 million bottles. Maison Chapoutier is one of the most admired French wine brands in the world. Its wines are the revelation of terroirs with potential, the expression of soils, and the signature taste of each of these wines.
