AMIRAULT YANNICK

Located in the commune of Bourgueil in France, behind Domaine Y. AMIRAULT is the story of 4 generations. Created by Eugène AMIRAULT in 1947, the Domaine was taken over and expanded 30 years later by Yannick AMIRAULT, his son. Until the end of the 90s, Yannick brought Domaine AMIRAULT to its peak, before his son, Benoît AMIRAULT, took over the reins in 2003.

Location of Domaine de Yannick Amirault

Today, the Domaine covers some 19 hectares spread over two neighboring communes. At Domaine Y. AMIRAULT, we are committed to organic viticulture. Depending on the climate, the vines are cultivated using natural grassing or ploughing. On certain vintages, the "enroulement" technique is used as a matter of course. The vines are tended with the utmost care and absolutely nothing is left to chance; so much so that the various practices carried out are anticipated on the basis of the lunar calendar. The plantations are also protected by spraying with organic products or substances made from totally organic plants. This type of organic viticulture has even earned them Ecocert FR BIO 01 certification. The grapes are harvested by hand and sorted only when ripe, to guarantee the excellence of the wine. Once the grapes have been harvested and sorted, they are de-stemmed in the vat room. Once fermentation is complete, the wine is macerated for 6 weeks in truncated cone-shaped tuns. Following this, extraction is carried out as gently as possible to get the best out of the wine.

Yannick Amirault's estate wines

Each plot is vinified separately, allowing each terroir to express itself fully through silky Cabernet Franc. Cote 50 is our most popular wine, a gourmet Bourgueil to be enjoyed from an early age. La Source is the authentic Saint-Nicolas-de-Bourgueil, invigorating and terribly effective. La Mine is more structured, and Les Malgagnes is the ultimate wine for laying down.
