COLIN BRUNO
Bruno Colin worked for 10 years in the family vineyards of Domaine Michel Colin-Deleger in Chassagne-Montrachet. This is a historic Burgundy vineyard. Traces of its existence date back to the Roman Empire. When his father retired in 2003, the family estate was shared between Bruno and his brother. Domaine Bruno Colin was born of this sharing.
From his very first vintage in 2004, Bruno Colin put his own personal stamp on the way his wines were made. He wanted to move away from round, greedy wines to more mineral wines. At first, he worked the vines using the "lutte raisonnée" method, then organic farming. His aim is to reveal the purest expression of his terroirs.
Location of Domaine Bruno Colin
Domaine Bruno Colin is located in Chassagne-Montrachet, on the prestigious terroirs of the Côte de Beaune. Bruno Colin's vineyards cover 9 hectares of plots. 6 for white wines and 3 for reds. The white grape varieties are Chardonnay and Aligoté. Red Burgundy is made from traditional Pinot Noir.
Divided by heritage, the vineyard comprises 50 micro-parcels spread over five communes: Chassagne-Montrachet, Puligny-Montrachet, Saint-Aubin, Santenay and Dezize-les-Maranges. These terroirs feature different soil types and orientations. These nuances contribute to the complexity of Domaine Bruno Colin wines.
