DESJOURNEYS JULES

Domaine Jules Desjourneys is the fruit of a long love affair between Fabien Duperray and wine. Created in 2006 by the winemaker, the domaine embodies a vision of excellence in Beaujolais wines. A former wine merchant, Fabien Duperray works his vines according to the teachings of the greatest names in Burgundy wines.

The estate is farmed organically and biodynamically, with the utmost respect for the soil and living organisms. The work in the vines is meticulous and diligent: small yields, microbiological monitoring, long ageing periods. For Fabien Duperray, quality is in the details. Since 2014, the winemaker has joined forces with Domaine Thibert to produce white Burgundy wines in the Pouilly-Fuissé and Pouilly-Vinzelles appellations.

Location of Domaine Jules Desjourneys

Fabien Duperray created Domaine Jules Desjourneys with the purchase of old vines at La Chapelle-de-Guinchay, south of Mâcon. The estate covers 9 hectares of prestigious Beaujolais terroirs around Fleurie, Chénas and Moulin-à-Vent. Its red wines are made from Gamay noir vines with white juice.

In the Mâconnais region, the winemaker produces white wines from a selection of parcels from Christophe Thibert's estate in Fuissé: les Vignes Blanches, les Longeays, les Cras Ménètrières, les Vignes Blanches, Les Cras or les Longeays. Fabien Duperray's white wine comes from Chardonnay vines.
