TESSIER

Domaine Arnaud Tessier wines are among our current favorites! These are excellent Meursault wines, the result of hard, diligent work, sometimes under difficult circumstances, but always a touching experience! Arnaud Tessier owns some very fine terroirs in the commune, including vines on Charmes-dessus, Poruzots, Genèvrières, Casse-Tête and Grands Charrons, totalling 7.5 hectares.

Arnaud was just 21 when he took over the 3.5-hectare family estate in 2006. Working in the vineyards was his thing, and he'd never made wine before. Deprived of his father's bosom by force of circumstance, he had to learn on the job, collaborating with his uncle for his first solo vinifications. His first vintage he kept to himself: he observed, tested, tamed his terroirs, etc. A true winegrower, he worked on the principle that 99% of wine is made in the vineyard, and he looked after them with discernment: lots of ploughing, as much organic as possible, even if it was sometimes necessary to go non-organic to avoid exposing his harvest. He calls on the help of oenologists to analyze his grapes and wines, but he now manages the vinifications and decides on the harvest date himself, armed with his experience honed over the years: between hail, frost and millerandage on all the vintages between 2012 and 2017, with the exception of 2015... it's fair to say that fate hasn't been kind to Arnaud and Catherine's plots! Arnaud's experience has been forged in difficult circumstances, from his apprenticeship in white winemaking to the renovation of his winery.

Domaine Tessier is a nugget with a discreet reputation, like a secret shared by only a few insiders. But the quality of Arnaud's wines is undeniable when you taste them! An ethereal, crystalline style that we're eager to share, so great is the Domaine's merit!
