CROIX

Created in 2005, Domaine des Croix is already one of the great names of the Côte de Beaune. Before setting off on his own, founder David Croix cut his teeth at Camille Grioud. Spotted for his talent by investors, he is now at the head of his own domaine. He makes some very fine Burgundy wines, mainly reds. His domaine offers excellent Beaune Premiers Crus.

Location of Domaine des Croix

Domaine des Croix is located in Beaune, Côte-d'Or. Its vines, mainly Pinot Noir, cover almost eight hectares in the Côte de Beaune. The majority of parcels are located in the Beaune appellation terroir. The rest of the vines are in Savigny-lès-Beaune and Aloxe-Corton, where the estate's only parcel of Chardonnay is located.

Domaine des Croix wines

The Domaine des Croix vines are grown using sustainable agriculture methods, and harvested by hand. Depending on the wine, the Pinot Noir is partially or completely destemmed. Red wines are aged for 15 months for Premiers Crus and 12 months for Village appellations. Between 5% and 25% new barrels are used. White wines are aged for 12 months, followed by 4 months of blending before bottling, without fining.

Domaine des Croix produces mainly red wines. Its two finest wines are Corton Grand Cru Les Grèves and Corton Grand Cru La Vigne au Saint. Domaine des Croix's Beaune Premiers Crus also enjoy an excellent reputation. These include Beaune Premiers Crus Les Bressandes, Les Cents Vignes, Les Grèves, Pertuisots and Tuvilains.

Alongside these wines stands a Savigny-lès-Beaune Premier Cru Les Peuillets. This range of red wines is completed by a Beaune, an Aloxe-Corton Les Boutières and a Bourgogne rouge. Domaine des Croix's only white wine is a prestigious Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru.
