MAGNIEN HENRI
Domaine Magnien Henri represents the continuity of prestigious Burgundy wines. Located in the heart of the village of Gevrey-Chambertin, the estate is adjacent to the Burgundy château. Together with the monument, it bears witness to the unshakeable prestige of the land cultivated below. 12 generations have succeeded one another on this 6-hectare estate.
Charles Magnien now cultivates the vines of his grandfather Henri. Since 2009, the domaine has evolved subtly between the tradition of Burgundy wines and a modern vision of wine. Pinot Noir weaves an unbreakable bond between the vines of the old vines and Charles Magnien's Gevrey-Chambertin cuvées.
Geographical location of Domaine Magnien Henri
Charles Magnien's estate is mainly located in Gevrey-Chambertin. The village is located in northern Côte-d'Or. It belongs to the Côte de Nuits wine-growing region. But Charles Magnien also owns plots of land in Corton, the prestigious village on the Côte de Beaune.
The marly soil is accompanied by a rather continental climate. The vines benefit from a favorable exposure, giving rise to exceptional Grand Cru and Premier Cru cuvées. Charles Magnien cultivates his old vines using sustainable methods. His estate produces only Pinot Noir red wines.
Domaine Magnien Henri wines
26 climats make up the Gevrey-Chambertin Premier Cru AOC. Charles Magnien creates a fine, elegant wine on 4 of them: Les Cazetiers, Champeaux, Estournelles-Saint-Jacques and Lavaux-Saint-Jacques. And Grand Cru Ruchottes Chambertin honors the prestigious Domaine Magnien Henri catalog. Finally, the Champerrier, Vieilles-Vignes and Bourgogne Côte-d'Or cuvées offer sought-after vintages.
In the Corton region, Domaine Magnien Henri makes the most of its Grand Cru Les Grandes Lolières and Premier Cru Aloxe-Corton La Coutière parcels. These are exceptional Burgundy wines. They represent the skilful balance of vines located on the border between the Côte de Beaune and the Côte de Nuits.
