RODET ANTONIN

Founded in 1875, Maison Antonin Rodet is a winegrower and wine merchant. The company is a major vineyard owner, with several estates in the Côte Châlonnaise and Côte de Beaune. On the other hand, its trading activity enables it to produce wines from appellations throughout Burgundy.

Geographical location of Maison Antonin Rodet

Maison Antonin Rodet is based in Mercurey, northwest of Chalon-sur-Saône. Its vineyards are divided between three estates. Firstly, Domaine de Bressande, whose 32 hectares of plots are scattered between Mercurey and Rully. Then there's Château de Mercey and its 44 hectares of vines, located in the south of the Côte de Beaune. Finally, Château de Rully, a 12-hectare estate in the north of the Côte Châlonnaise.

The wines of Maison Antonin Rodet

The vines of Maison Antonin Rodet are harvested by hand. Red wines are usually completely destemmed. The fruit is cold-macerated, followed by a long fermentation. Depending on the appellation, the wine is aged for between 10 and 15 months, using 20-30% new barrels. White wines are traditionally vinified. The wine is aged on lees for 8 to 12 months.

Maison Antonin Rodet produces numerous Premiers Crus, both red and white. In red wine, the house offers Rully Premiers Crus Chapitre, Préaux and Molesme. These are accompanied by a Mercurey Premier Cru En Sazenay and a Maranges Premier Cru. The house also produces a Rully and a Bourgogne Hautes-Côtes de Beaune Rouge.

For white wines, Maison Antonin Rodet produces Rully Premiers Crus Montpalais, Saint-Jacques Ouest, La Pucelle and Clos de la Bressande Monopole. They are joined by Rully and Mercurey in the Village appellation, as well as a Bourgogne Hautes-Côtes de Beaune Blanc and a Bourgogne Aligoté.
