BOISSET JEAN-CLAUDE

Nathalie and Jean-Charles Boisset are the 2nd generation of Domaine Jean-Claude Boisset. The domaine is located in Nuits-Saint-Georges, Burgundy. The Boissets are supported by Grégory Patriat, who elaborates the wines. Nothing is left to chance at this estate, which respects the terroir and seeks to express the true nature of wine, whether red or white. Les Ursulines is one of Maison Jean-Claude Boisset's flagship cuvées. There are also 9 Grands Crus, including Chambertin, and 33 Premiers Crus, including Les Charmes in Chambolle-Musigny.

Geographical location of Domaine Jean-Claude Boisset

The estate's origins lie in Gevrey-Chambertin. The vineyards cultivated by Jean-Claude Boisset's son are located on the Côte de Nuits and Côte de Beaune , in the heart of one of France's greatest wine-growing regions. The soil is more or less rich, limestone or clay-limestone. Exposure is mostly south, southeast or east. The vines of this fine estate are often old: 30, 40 years or even more. Some wines, like the Pommard 1er Cru Les Arvelets, come from very steep plots.

Domaine Jean-Claude Boisset wines

Chardonnay and Aligoté are the grape varieties of the many white wines produced by this great house. Grégory's passionate work has produced a white Bourgogne Aligoté, as well as Côtes de Nuits-Villages and Macon-Villages. The domaine also offers Grands Crus and Premiers Crus, such as Les Chevenottes and Santenay Passetemps.

Maison Jean-Claude Boisset produces renowned red wines from Pinot Noir grapes. The Chambolle-Musigny appellation is one of the estate's smallest. It includes 3 Premiers Crus on just 27 hectares. 97 hectares are planted in the Village and benefit from the climats Les Pas de Chats, Derrière le four, Le Clos de l'Orme and Les Danguerrins. A tasting at the domaine will show you the full range of wines on offer.
