TAYLOR'S
Taylor's was founded in 1692 by Job Bearsley, an English merchant. Today, it is one of the oldest port houses in Portugal. It benefits from the heritage of past generations, while preserving the durability and quality of its wines. A family-run business, it specializes in the elaboration of red port wine and produces exceptional ports.
Location of Taylor's
Taylor's is based in Porto and the Douro Valley, in north-west Portugal. It comprises three estates: Quinta de Vargellas, Quinta de Terra Feita and Quinta do Junco. These estates are located on some of the finest terroirs in the Duriense region. Each has its own personality. Each terroir brings its own specific notes to the wines. The company promotes sustainable viticulture in the privileged environment of the Douro Valley. Taylor's port wines are aged in the cellars of Vila Nova de Gaia, opposite the historic center of Porto.
Taylor's wines
Taylor's produces port wines in a variety of styles. It is best known for its Tawny Ports. These are port wines aged in casks. The estate's Tawny Ports can be 10, 20, 30 or 40 years old. Taylor's Vintage Port is a vintage port wine from the Taylor's estate, made only in the best years. This port wine is a blend of the finest wines from the company's three estates.
