CLOS SAINT JOSEPH

In 2014,Blandine and Charles-Guillaume Simon took over Clos Saint Joseph, a very old wine merchant located in Meursault, south of Beaune in Burgundy. They set about restoring the premises, which had been abandoned for half a century, in order to rediscover high-quality spirits. With the addition of their own still in 2019, they now run a truly Burgundian craft distillery.

Thanks to their recent distillation equipment and their cellars in Meursault, the Simon brothers now offer top-of-the-range spirits. All Clos Saint Joseph distillates are produced in the Côte de Nuits and Côte de Beaune regions. They come from renowned terroirs. The Clos Saint Joseph distillery does all the work by hand and in the family, from bottling to labeling.

Innovation and experimentation are at the heart of our approach, enabling us to offer a wide range of new, tasty products. The maturing method chosen is inspired by those used for whisky, a first in the Burgundy region. The meticulous choice of casks and their origin allows us to obtain varied and new aromas.

Clos Saint Joseph distillery wines

Blandine and Charles-Guillaume Simon have created five product ranges at the Clos Saint Joseph distillery. With "Esprit de Vin", revisit traditional Burgundy spirits such as marc and fine. Marc de Bourgogne affinage Moscatel is one of them. Grape marc is distilled once alcoholic fermentation is complete.

Among the distillery's other ranges, we suggest you discover original spirits such as Ô De Jo - Dry Gin N.V or BAR Jo Pastis N.V. Let's not forget the lemon or orange liqueurs called Écorce du Clos, as well as the house-made crème de cassis.
