CHÂTEAU SUDUIRAUT

AXA Millésimes has owned Château Suduiraut since 1992. Located in the heart of the Sauternes region, this Premier Cru classified in 1855 is one of Bordeaux's finest sweet white wines. Château Suduiraut is only produced when the harvest is exceptional. Vineyard manager Pierre Montégut and cellar master Caroline Chevalier uphold the tradition of this AOC Sauternes white wine. Château Suduiraut comes from the most prestigious vines of this Sauternes wine estate. The vineyard is certified to High Environmental Value.

Location of Château Suduiraut

Château Suduiraut is located in Preignac, in the Sauternes region. The 91-hectare vineyard is planted on sandy-clay gravel. Situated south of Bordeaux, the vineyard benefits from a microclimate. Close to the Garonne and Ciron rivers, the vines benefit from a temperate, oceanic climate. The rare frosts enable a late harvest, allowing noble rot (Botrytis cinerea) to appear on the grapes. The vineyard is planted with 90% Semillon and 10% Sauvignon Blanc.

Château Suduiraut wines

Château Suduiraut produces five Sauternes appellation white wines. The Premier Cru Classé Château Suduiraut is a wine with a golden color. This exceptional Sauternes is made from 94% Semillon and 6% Sauvignon Blanc. The second wine, Castelnau de Suduiraut, has fruity aromas. The third sweet white wine is Lions de Suduiraut. It's a very light, mineral and fruity white.

The estate also produces two dry white wines. S de Suduiraut Vieilles Vignes is made from the chateau's oldest vines. The final wine is Blanc Sec de Suduiraut. This Sauternes appellation has a beautiful yellow color and fruity aromas.
