DHONDT-GRELLET

Domaine Dhont-Grellet breathes new life into Champagne. Founded in 1986 by Éric and Édith Dhon-Grellet, the estate was taken over in 2012 by their son Adrien, aged just 22. The young winemaker brings a fresh perspective to the production of Champagne wines. He chooses to manage the vineyard according to plot selection.

This choice of viticulture enables him to work as close as possible to the vines. It enhances the terroir and the particularities of its soil and climate. Plot selection is a meticulous process. It is accompanied by great respect for the vines: ploughed soils, plant-based treatments and respect for the organic charter.

Geographical location of Domaine Dhondt-Grellet

Maison Dhondt-Grellet is located in Flavigny, in the heart of the Côte des Blancs , south-east of Épernay. The 6-hectare vineyard is mainly planted with Chardonnay vines. These are planted on Premier Cru and Grand Cru parcels in Avize, Cramant, Chouilly, Cuis and Sézanne. The Côte des Blancs blossoms south of Épernay. Its hillsides face east, sheltered from the prevailing westerly winds. The chalk soils have given their name to this benchmark Champagne terroir.

Pinot Noir vines are found further north in the Grande Vallée de la Marne. They find their expression in Avenay-Val-d'Or. The vines of Maison Dhondt-Grellet are planted mid-slope on limestone soil.
