COTTON PIERRE

Pierre Cotton comes from the same generation as famous winemakers Jules Metrat and Yann Bertrand. But he has followed a very different career path. Pierre worked as a motorcycle mechanic before making his mark in the Loire Valley with winegrowers who are committed to nature and organic farming. He then returned to his native Beaujolais to work on his family's estate on the Côte de Brouilly. Highly aware of environmental issues in the wine world, and influenced by his own experiences, he began converting the estate to organic viticulture, even though Pierre's parents were already managing their vineyards as naturally as possible. Motivated and full of ambition, the young winemaker produced his first bottles under his own name in 2014. Pierre vinifies his wines in such a way as to let the terroir express itself in all its splendor. Indigenous yeasts, long maceration at very low temperatures, sulfur in homeopathic quantities only..

Today, he markets several different cuvées and even plans to buy up parcels of Chardonnay to make Beaujolais Blanc. Pierre Cotton makes light, easy-to-digest, fruity wines from Gamay that are perfect for sharing with friends.
