CHAMPY BORIS

In Burgundy, a wine estate is often passed down from father to son. But Domaine Boris Champy illustrates the birth of a domaine by philosophical transmission. In 1984, the domaine was taken over by Didier Montchovet. Thanks to his ecological convictions, the vines became the first to be certified biodynamic.

The estate is now Demeter-certified. This is the most demanding organic label. It rewards a global approach to the ecosystem formed by the vines and their plant, animal and human environment. Boris Champy shares this holistic awareness. Didier Montchovet is handing over his estate to him in 2019.

Location of Domaine Boris Champy

Domaine Boris Champy is located in Nantoux, west of Beaune. Its vineyards cover 12 hectares. The parcels are planted in 2 zones. The first is the Hautes-Côtes de Beaune appellation. They benefit from the altitude of the slopes. The second zone comprises 3 parcels: Pommard En Boeuf, Beaune Premier Cru Aux Coucherias and Les Vignes Franches.

The estate handed down by Didier Montchovet embodies the agroecological convictions of Boris Champy. They are islands of biodiversity. Sheep mow and fertilize them. The vines are worked by hand. Domaine Boris Champy reflects a natural paradise where beauty reflects quality.

Domaine Boris Champy wines

Boris Champy's wines are part of the " terroir awakening" that some Burgundy winegrowers are calling for. The label of each Domaine Boris Champy wine reflects the typicality of its parcel: altitude, climate, environment. 4 wines in the Hautes-Côtes de Beaune appellation sublimate the range: cuvée Montagne 382 in white wine, then cuvées Altitude 395, Clou 377 and Bignon 421 in red wine. They join the estate's 2 Beaune Premiers Crus.

Boris Champy also offers a Bourgogne Aligoté Presse Verticale 429 and a Bourgogne Aligoté Doré Sélection Massale. Last but not least, a 100% Gamay Coteaux Bourguignons completes this characterful range.
