GIBOURG ROBERT

Robert Gibourg founded his domaine in 1965 with the inheritance of a hectare of old vines in the Côte de Nuits and Côte de Beaune. Domaine Robert Gibourg expanded by buying or renting new plots of Burgundy wine. These are located in the villages of Aloxe-Corton, Ladoix-Serrigny, Morey-Saint-Denis and Chorey-lès-Beaune.

In 1999, Robert Gibourg handed over the running of the vineyard to his daughter Anne and son-in-law Sébastien Bidault. The couple also run their own vineyards in Burgundy. Robert Gibourg's vines are cultivated within the framework of sustainable viticulture. Respect for the soil, manual harvesting and gentle vinification ensure the authentic expression of terroirs.

Geographical location of Domaine Robert Gibourg

The Domaine Robert Gibourg now covers six hectares of vines on diversified terroirs between Gevrey-Chambertin and Ladoix-Serrigny. It is this diversity that Sébastien Bidault wishes to reveal in his wines. The vines are mainly planted with Pinot Noir.

Among the outstanding plots, Robert Gibourg owns 18 ares of the climat Les Renardes from the famous Corton Grand Cru. Further north, in Morey-Saint-Denis, the domaine has a monopoly on the prestigious Clos de la Bidaude parcel. This small terroir is home to Pinot Noir vines in the lower part and Chardonnay vines in the upper part.

Domaine Robert Gibourg wines

Domaine Robert Gibourg produces a single white wine in the Morey-Saint-Denis appellation. As for the red wines, they cover various appellations: Corton Grand Cru, Ladoix, Coteaux Bourguignons and Morey-Saint-Denis.

Burgundy enthusiasts can enjoy Aloxe-Corton Clos de la Roche, Clos de la Bidaude Monopole and Ladoix Les Toppes Coiffées. The deliberately low yields of the vines contribute to the quality of the wines produced by Anne and Sébastien Bidault.
