QUIVY GERARD

Gérard Quivy founded his domaine in 1980. He took over a vineyard from his wife Christine's family in Gevrey-Chambertin. Four generations of winemakers have succeeded one another on these parcels of great Burgundy wines. Gérard Quivy is a former law specialist. You can see very strong connections between wine-making and his previous experiences: complexity, the quest for perfection and tradition.

These qualities are reflected in the expression of his wine, in his viticultural practices and in the Louis XIV period house that houses his cellar. Domaine Gérard Quivy illustrates one man's love affair with wine.

Geographical location of Domaine Gérard Quivy

The Gérard Quivy estate is located in the heart of the village of Gevrey-Chambertin, south of Dijon. Its vineyards rub shoulders with the greatest vineyards of the Côte de Nuits. The vines of the lieux-dits En Charmes and Les Journeaux are between 50 and 100 years old. The winemaker likes to recall the history of his plots, worked and developed by hand by monks as far back as the Middle Ages.

Domaine Gérad Quivy's vineyards flourish on the exceptional soils of the Gevrey-Chambertin hillsides. The vineyards are farmed organically. The typicity of each terroir is enhanced. In this way, Pinot Noir can reveal the different components of its character.
