ROC BREÏA

Théo Dancer is a winemaker in search of an ideal for his Burgundy wines. Determined, he experiments with his ideas in different projects. At the family domaine in Chassagne-Montrachet, he follows in the footsteps of his father Vincent Dancer. And in his trading house, he breaks free from the codes of the appellations to produce wines from grape varieties from different regions.

Domaine Roc Breïa is Théo Dancer's latest creation. The Celtic origin of his estate's name sheds light on his new project. Breïa denotes a deep connection with nature. The winemaker has acquired a vineyard in the Mâconnais to produce 100% natural wines in a virtuous ecosystem. With strength and determination.

Location of Domaine Roc Breïa

Domaine Roc Breïa is located in Bray, north of Mâcon. The vineyard covers 10 hectares of vines, including 7 hectares planted with Pinot Noir and 3 with Chardonnay. The different nuances of the soils (clay, limestone, silt) offer Théo Dancer the prospect of producing authentic, complex wines.

To achieve this, the winemaker first worked to restore balance to soils depleted by conventional vine-growing. Théo Dancer's viticultural practices respect nature, its needs and its cycles. For the winemaker, this Mâconnais estate is a fantastic opportunity to create a vineyard that reflects his personality.

The wines of Domaine Roc Breïa

On his Mâcon estate, Théo Dancer has chosen to produce two wines: a red from Pinot Noir and a white from Chardonnay. His wines bear the Vin de France appellation. Like his wine merchant, Théo Dancer wishes to free himself from the norms of a terroir-based appellation to preserve his creativity. Each vintage seems to validate his approach.
