BOUVIER RENE

Bernard Bouvier has been at the helm of Domaine René Bouvier since 1992. Bernard's grandfather René founded the family business in 1910 in Marsannay. Three generations have succeeded him on the domaine, which has become a benchmark for Burgundy wines. Today, Bernard Bouvier cultivates his land according to the principles of organic farming. The domaine's owner is as passionate about wine as he is about nature. He communicates intimately with his vines, giving the grapes room to express themselves.

Geographical location of Domaine René Bouvier

The estate's 30 hectares are spread across the Côte de Nuits, with 23 hectares cultivated for red wine and 7 for white. Domaine René Bouvier is located in the commune of Gevrey-Chambertin. Its vineyards cover the Marsannay, Fixin and Gevrey areas. Bernard Bouvier tends his land with respect for biodiversity. He doesn't see his work any other way. The Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grapes flourish thanks to an alchemy between soil, vine and winemaker.

Domaine René Bouvier wines

In his Burgundy wines, Bernard Bouvier seeks to express the character of the grape, without forcing the natural process. The diversity of climates is reflected in his 26 cuvées.

Domaine René Bouvier comprises 18 appellations. These include wines from the Bourgogne contrôlée appellation and great Burgundy wines, such as Côtes de Nuits Villages. Famous Grands Crus, such as Charmes-Chambertin and Échezeaux, make the estate famous.

Bernard Bouvier is a fervent admirer of the Marsannay appellation. Defending the quality and typicity of the wines from this terroir is close to his heart. Since 1998, the estate has had a sought-after monopoly for its white wines on its Marsannay Le Clos land. Bernard Bouvier has also acquired 90-year-old vines. They produce the cuvée Racine du Temps in the Gevrey-Chambertin appellation.
