CLAIR BRUNO

Domaine Bruno Clair, founded in 1979 in Marsannay, comes from a long history of winegrowing, as is often the case in Burgundy. The vines are carefully selected to produce top-quality red, white and even rosé wines. Each vintage sees a Grand Cru for the Chambertin Clos de Bèze appellation, Bonnes-Mares in red or Corton-Charlemagne in white. The simplicity of the labels conceals know-how acquired over 6 generations.

Location of Domaine Bruno Clair

Domaine Bruno Clair's 27 hectares of vines are planted in several communes, including Marsonnay, Gevrey-Chambertin, Morey-Saint-Denis, Vosne-Romanée, Savigny-les-Beaunes and Axole-Corton. In the heart of Burgundy, the terroir is essentially clay-limestone. The vines benefit from exposure to the east, southeast or south.

Domaine Bruno Clair wines

Domaine Bruno Clair wines are predominantly red, with Pinot Noir as the grape variety. Two red Grands Crus, Bonnes Mares and Chambertin Clos de Bèze, delight the most discerning palates. There are numerous Premiers Crus: Clos-Saint-Jacques on Gevrey-Chambertin, La Dominode on Savigny-les-beaune, Les Charmes on Chambolle-Musigny, Aux Raignots on Vosne-Romanée. Les Longeroies, Les Grasses Têtes and Les Vaudenelles are grown on Marsonnay. The En la rue de Vergy appellation (red and white) comes from the Morey-Saint-Denis terroir. The wines are aged in oak barrels for between 18 and 20 months. Depending on the appellation, up to 50% of this time may be spent in new barrels.

As is often the case in Burgundy, Chardonnay forms the basis of the domaine's white wines. The vines in theCorton-Charlemagne appellation, classified as a Grand Cru, were planted in 1976. The white Marsonnay was planted between 1988 and 1998. The plot in the Pernand-Vergelesses appellation dates back to 1996. The estate has evolved over time. Domaine Bruno Clair also offers a rosé appellation: Marsonnay rosé.
