COLIN SIMON
Domaine Simon Colin is a wine merchant located in Chassagne-Montrachet, Côte-d'Or. Descended from an illustrious Chassagne-Montrachet family, Simon Colin trained at the prestigious Domaine Étienne Sauzet, in Puligny-Montrachet. In 2017, he decided to launch his own Burgundy wine merchant business. At the time, the majority of his production consisted of white wines, in Chassagne-Montrachet. Despite his youth, Simon Colin's talents as a winemaker were acclaimed from his very first vintages. Today, he continues his adventure, with a bright future ahead of him.
Geographical location of Domaine Simon Colin
Simon Colin's wines straddle two Burgundy terroirs. The southern Côte de Beaune and the northern Côte Chalonnaise. In Côte-d'Or, his wines come from vineyards in the Maranges, Chassagne-Montrachet, Puligny-Montrachet and Saint-Aubin appellations. This terroir is characterized by brown, limestone and stony soils. In Saône-et-Loire, Simon Colin's business is centered on the villages of Rully and Bouzeron. The soils here are predominantly clay-limestone, with some steep slopes.
Domaine Simon Colin wines
Domaine Simon Colin produces mainly Côte de Beaune white wines. The estate's most prestigious wines are four classified Premiers Crus de Bourgogne. In Chassagne-Montrachet, these are the Premiers Crus Les Vergers, Morgeot and Les Chaumées. These wines are complemented by a Puligny-Montrachet Premier Cru La Garenne. Alongside these crus, Domaine Simon Colin also produces a Chassagne-Montrachet Village, a Bourgogne Aligoté and a Bourgogne Chardonnay. In red wine, and still in Côte de Beaune, the domaine offers a Saint-Aubin Prémices.
Simon Colin produces several white wines in the Côte Chalonnaise appellation Village. These include Rully La Chaume and Bouzeron Les Clous.
