NOZAY

Welcome to the Sancerre vineyards, where Sauvignon Blancs reign supreme! To the north of the Sancerre appellation, not far from the small village of Sainte Gemme, lies a majestic, charming 17th-century château: Le Nozay. In the 1970s, the château became a family wine estate. Baron Philippe de Benoist settled there with his wife Marie-Hélène with the aim of planting vines. They planted their first hectare in 1971, and over time expanded the estate to 15 hectares. For several years now, their son Cyril has been working the vines and vinifying the estate's various cuvées. He received prestigious training from Aubert de Villaine, Marie-Hélène's elder brother. A name that must surely mean something to you... He is none other than the co-manager of the illustrious Domaine de la Romanée Conti and owner of Domaine A & P de Villaine in Bouzeron.

Like the famous Burgundy estate, Domaine du Nozay runs its vineyards organically (since 2011) and biodynamically (since 2017): meticulous and intense mechanical tillage, natural fertilization, no use of yeast or additives in winemaking... this is the direction chosen by the estate to produce exceptional wines!
